The club are currently 16 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and are currently on a run of 13 straight wins in the league. Coupled with that Guardiola’s side put one foot in the quarter-finals of the Champions league midweek when they beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Etihad.

Bayern have been both impressive as an attacking force and on the defensive side in recent weeks, scoring 18 goals and conceding none in their last five games in all competitions.

Last time out in the league they knocked four past Freiburg with Dante, Xherdan Shaquiri (2) and Claudio Pizarro all getting on the score sheet.

While Dante and Pizarro both featured midweek against Arsenal Swiss star Shaquiri missed out with a thigh strain and the winger is once again expected to miss out this weekend.

Bayern will also head into the game without the injured Franck Ribery although the good news for Bayern fans is that the French star is back in light training following an operation on his buttocks and will be available for selection in the coming weeks.

Bayern face a Hannover side that is 11th in the table and has suffered three defeats in their last five league games. Last time out they crashed 2-0 away to Mainz, a repeat of their scoreline away to Schalke the week before.

In their last home game however the club pulled off something of a surprise when they beat 6th place Borrussia Monchengladbach 3-1 at home with two goals from Mame Diouf sealing the three points.

The 26 year old striker represents the club’s best chance of breaking down the Bayern defensive wall. The Senegal international has scored 7 goals in 16 Bundesliga appearances this season as well as weighting in with three assists.
