Roma v Bayern Munich – Fantastic encounter in store
Roma have made a strong return to the top tier of European football, their first campaign since 2011. Garcia’s men opened their group with a 5-1 win over CSKA before drawing 1-1 with Manchester City last time out.
Despite their impressive start it has not been enough to top the group with Bayern winning both their games. Pep Guardiola’s side have won both their opening games 1-0, beating both City and CSKA.
The club have also continued their dominance of the Bundesliga and currently sit top of the table, four points clear following a 6-0 win over Werder Bremen at the weekend.
The big win was all the more impressive considering Robert Lewandowski was an unused substitute and Franck Ribery came on in the second half. Both are expected to start midweek with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thiago Alcantara both out.
