While Chelsea need both Manchester City and Liverpool to slip up if they are to have a chance of claiming the title, manager Jose Mourinho will hope his side can stay in the mix with a victory over third from bottom Norwich.

The Canaries have yet to win any of the matches Neil Adams has overseen suffering defeats to Fulham, Liverpool and Manchester United. Those defeats have extended their winless run to five games and placed their premier league future in serious doubt.

Adams however has done something that his Norwich side has not achieved since 1993, win at Stamford Bridge.

The former Everton has fond memories of the venue after leading Norwich to the FA youth cup last year with a 3-2 win.

“I’ve got very good memories of Stamford Bridge. The last time I was there as a coach, we won the Youth Cup final,” said Adams.

“It’s not nice being in the bottom three. Obviously it’s going to be tough, you don’t want to be there.

“We have to go to Stamford Bridge and put in a performance that will get us a result. We hope to go there and execute the game plan that we made.”

Adam will be without Joseph Yobo and Anthony Pilkington for the game while for Chelsea, goalkeeper Petr Cech (shoulder) is unlikely to play, Oscar (hip) is a doubt and midfielder Ramires is suspended.

Eden Hazard could also miss out after criticising Mourinho’s tactics in the midweek defeat to Atletico.
