Liverpool will continue their quest to reach the Champions League when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the 2nd leg of their Europa league.

A 1-1 draw last weekend in Dortmund has handed Liverpool a slight advantage although with the emotion of the Jurgen Klopp reunion now out of the way, the Bundesliga side are likely to be more focused and less emotional.

While a 0-0 draw would be enough for Liverpool to progress, Klopp will know his needs goals and has a big decision to make up front. The German coach must decides whether to continue with Divock Origi, so effective last week, in a sole capacity or introduce Daniel Sturridge, equally impressive in the win over Stoke at the weekend, to the forward line.

Origi has bulked up in recent week and the added power has been reflected in his performances. The Belgian added to his goal in Dortmund with a brace against the Potters and is very much starting to look the potential star that emerged at the 2014 World Cup.

Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are also likely to be involved while in midfield Joe Allen is set to partner Emre Can with Jordan Henderson out injured.

Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren will return after being rested at the weekend while Christian Benteke, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez and Jordan Rossiter are the only other absentees.

If Klopp is intent on giving Liverpool plenty of ammunition upfront, his opposite number, Thomas Tuchel is also determined to leave nothing behind on the Anfield pitch.

Dortmund have scored 119 goals this season and while their attacking abilities were stifled somewhat by a resolute defence last week, they will go again on Merseyside.

“There was a special situation with Jurgen coming home and you can’t deny the energy this gives to you or takes away from you,” said Tuchel.

“Now this is easier for us coming to Anfield in terms of the energy. The overall circumstances are different. Perhaps the players were inhibited in the first leg but going into the second leg it will be different.

We know what we have to achieve: to score. We are here to attack and here to take risks. We don’t want to score one, we want two or even more. We want to see what is possible in terms of our potential. We do not want to feel our boundaries. This is the pressure and I love it.”
