I’m A Celebrity Odds: Ignore Joey Essex: punters eye 100/1 Lucy Pargeter

I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here is pulling in record viewing figures this year and has seen plenty of action both on and off the screen as Paddy Power report a wealth of interest for this year’s jungle extravaganza.

Lewis Jones has been watching closely and feels the market support behind hot favourite Joey Essex is misplaced. He’s ignoring the 2/5 favourite and tipping up a 100/1 shot to make the frame!

Apparently, to make a success of yourself on TV these days all you need to do is paint your teeth extremely white and have the brain the size of a pea.

That seems the ploy of I’m A Celebrity frontrunner Joey Essex, whose inability to tell the time and his cute looks have made him an instant hit with the paying public.

A key aspect to being very popular on this show is to deal with the Bushtucker Trials and in fairness to Essex, he has produced the goods in the all four trials he has been voted for, picking up stars and plenty of airtime.

However, despite being the outright favourite to go all the way, there are plenty of twists and turns in this four week show. The early attention on Essex will eventually drop as the producers turn their focus onto other celebrities who will become more agitated the more time they spend in the jungle.

The big-hitters in the jungle, like Westlife backing singer Kian Egan, who can be backed at 11/2, and Snooker legend Steve Davis, a 16/1 poke, will have their moments in the coming weeks but in all honesty they have come across a bit boring so far and probably lack an explosive outburst and personality to make the final three.

What the public and produces want is fiery action. And a source of that may come from the relatively unknown Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter, who has fallen under the radar in the markets at 100/1 but could make a bit of a splash in the next few weeks.

Not afraid to speak her mind, the actress has plenty of spark about her but is also very likeable with it.

The public like a “girl next door” character as shown when Charlie Brooks took home the prize two years ago.

She has similar characteristics to Pargeter, but the Emmerdale star has a much broader sex appeal that has yet to be focused on yet.

It’s only a matter of time before the producers start to push her to the forefront. Get on the 100/1 now.
