Blackburn set for player exodus as Pedersen, Hoilett and Dann court interest
A SqueakyBumTime source has revealed that West Ham are targeting Scott Dann and Morten Gamst Pedersen whilst Sunderland are hoping to snap up Junior Hoilett as Blackburn begin to count the cost of relegation.
Rovers’ demotion to the Championship was confirmed on Monday after they lost 1-0 to Wigan at Ewood Park and as a consequence of losing their top-flight status they’re are now set to lose several of their key players during the summer.
Hoilett, who will be available on a free after rejecting a new contract, will be one of the first out of the exit door with Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill interested in bringing the Canadian to the Stadium of Light.
The Irishman is expected to initiate wholesale changes on Wearside as he gears up for his first full campaign in charge and knows the exciting 21-year-old will add goals to his side after scoring seven times during an impressive campaign in Lancashire..
Sunderland will have to fight off serious interest for Hoilett as fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City are all reportedly interested whilst Bundesliga side Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on him.
Pedersen and Dann also look set to leave Steve Kean’s side with Championship play-off finalists West Ham reportedly mulling over a double bid should they win promotion.
Former Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is hoping to lead the Hammers back into the top-flight at the first time of asking and is already planning ahead in the eventuality of that occurring.
Allardyce worked with Pedersen during his time at Ewood Park and knows the 30-year-old Norwegian will provide an experience presence in midfield whilst his deadly left foot will provide a threat from set pieces.
Dann, on the other hand, is a surprise target for 57-year-old after his poor form for Blackburn following a £6 million switch from Birmingham who were relegated along with West Ham last season.
Both players will be available at a cut-price fee and are rumoured interested in a move to Greater London.
