Real Madrid target Ivanovic could leave Chelsea

The La Liga champions have reportedly already enquired about the Serbian international and have been encouraged to continue their pursuit after exchanging positive dialogue with Blues officials.

Ivanovic won’t come cheap though and Mourinho will have to assess his finances before making his move with Premier League side rumoured to be wanting upwards of £20-million for the player.
Russian owner Roman Abramovich is planning a pre-season clear out at Stamford Bridge after a disappointing campaign that saw the club finish outside the top four for the first time a decade.
Trimming the wage bill will be his first task meaning that several big names, including Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda, Salomon Kalou and David Luiz, are set to depart West London in the close season but the news that Ivanovic could leave will come as a surprise.
The 28-year-old, who is set to miss the Champions League final with Bayern Munich due to suspension, has been a mainstay in the Chelsea rearguard for the past four-years and has developed into a real fans favourite during that time.
Despite struggling to initially cope with pace and physicality of the English game following his arrival from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2008 he’s gone on to become a vital figure on Kings Road.
Whether it’s at right back or centre half Ivanovic has proved to be Chelsea’s Mr Dependable making 159 appearances and scoring 14 goals during his time at the club making the 2009/10 PFA Team of the Year in the process.
