City secured an impressive come-from-behind 3-2 win over Bayern Munich while the Gunners were far from the best in a 2-0 loss away to Napoli.

With Arsenal currently 5 points ahead of fourth place City this game is very much a six-pointer but given Manuel Pellegrini have won all seven of their home games to date Arsene Wenger and his men face a tough ask.

City has been finding goals very easy to come by at the Etihad as Spurs can testify. Arsenal’s North London rivals conceded six goals on their recent trip to Manchester and they are not only team to succumb to the Citizen’s free scoring play with 23 other goals scored and just conceded this season at home.

Despite the odds being stacked against Arsenal, Wenger has promised that his side will go all out for the win, telling reporters that his side “will give absolutely everything on Saturday morning” against City”

Wenger words have been backed up by Polish stopper Wojciech Szczesny who has backed his side to keep their recent league, three wins and a draw from their last four games, going.

City have scored a lot of goals at home but our defensive record in the Premier League has been very, very good this season as well, so we hope we can keep that going and keep our run in the Premier League going to secure our place at the top of the table,” the 23 year old said.

“However, we don’t look at our position in the table.

“We know we are top and people are talking about a title challenge but we will take it game by game, focus on Man City, get a good result and if we do that we will be in a very good position.”

The club are set to be boosted by the return of Lukas Podolski. The German star has been out since August with a hamstring injury but is closing in on a return to the first team.

Aaron Ramsey will start after starting the clash against Napoli on the bench however Bacary Sagna is out.

City meanwhile will be without Micah Richard after he suffered a hamstring injury against Bayern while Gael Clichy is a doubt.

Yaya Toure returns after being suspended midweek while Costel Pantilmon will take back the goal keeping jersey from Joe Hart.
