Its expected to be another busy day in Australia, with Nadal, Murray and Federer in action on the courts of Melbourne today.

Much has been made of the heat, with temperatures once again set to soar to 40 degrees in Melbourne, as we see a plethora of top players take to the courts at the Rod Laver Arena.

The action continues from down under as world number one Rafael Nadal takes on local Australian wildcard entrant Thanasi Kokkinakis, as Aussie fans eye an upset from their local hero.

It will certainly be a tough ask for the Australian, currently ranked 570 in the world and only 17 years of age as he faces Nadal with plenty of hunger, after missing last years tournament through injury.

His much publicised knee problems now seem a think of the past, as the Spaniard took two Grand Slams (US Open and French Open) and will be looking to retake the Australian crown he last won in 2009.

The 27yr old has already started this year with a bang, taking the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha to give his Grand Slam ambitions for 2014 the perfect boost, and there’s little doubt that Nadal will be looking to progress quickly in the searing heat of the Melbourne courts.

The young Kokkinakis has most probably already played the match of his life in upsetting Igor Sijsling in the first round, winning in four sets, and the challenge of Nadal will no doubt prove tough for the youngster.

A straight sets victory is the most probable result as Nadal should move ominously into Round Three in Melbourne.
