While the headlines in the last few days have focused on the subject of their dwellings, manager Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to get back to business on the field.

The new man had overseen a strong start to the season with wins over West Ham and QPR but were bought back down to earth against Liverpool last time out.

The former Southampton manager is set to hand a debut to new signing Benjamin Stambouli.

The 24 year old, signed from Montepellier, can’t wait to make his bow, telling the club’s official website “I have a lot of energy and I have to be focused on my work to play well and not to be too excited like a child”

”I’m very happy. The training has been hard and we’ve worked a lot with a lot of intensity.

“It’s been good for my preparation to play for Spurs. I have to continue to work hard to be ready and to be at the same level as the rest of the team.”

While Stambouli is set to make his first start, his new team-mate’s Kyle Walker and Roberto Soldado will both have to wait for their seasonal bows as they struggle with abdominal and neck injuries.

Sunderland for their part have lost one and drawn two of their games so far and have no injuries concerns ahead of the game.
