The Arsenal manager has revealed that the club’s injury crisis is looking less daunting that it did a few days back with many first teamers who have been out of action for some time now, likely to return to first-team training in a few days.
The likes of Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil, Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny had given a lot of headaches to the medical staff due to injuries but the French tactician has stated that ahead of the Liverpool clash at Anfield on Sunday, the crisis is very much abating.
While talking to reporters, the Gunners boss stated that Nacho Monreal has a slight chance of playing against Brendan Rodgers’ side but also revealed that Walcott might not be used even as a substitute as he has only returned to training.
However, Wenger stated that Oxlade-Chamberlain is likely to be fit but will have to pass a fitness test on Saturday.
David Ospina meanwhile, has returned to training while Tomas Rosicky is set to return to full training next week. “We hope that [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit. We’ll see that on Saturday after a test. He’s not in training at the moment.
“[David] Ospina is back in full training and [Tomas] Rosicky should be back next week.”
