The former Arsenal captain has been following the club regularly since retiring from the game and named a few players his former manager should sign in a bid to improve the team.
While talking to reporters, Ray Parlour spoke about various players whose arrival at The Emirates could help Arsenal achieve their preseason goals.
Throughout the summer transfer window, the Gunners were heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund captain Mats Hummels. However, the German international chose to stay with his current club but things might change considering the poor form BVB have showcased in the Bundesliga this time around.
And, Parlour says that Hummels would be a great addition to the squad.
“Mats Hummels would be great, a world cup winner and a good player.
And, Parlour says that his former manager would do well to snap up Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton. The France international has been a long term target for rivals Tottenham but is reportedly interested in signing for the Gunners. And Parlour says that the youngster is definitely the type of player Arsenal needs at the moment.
Parlour admits that while Schneiderlin will take his time, he is confident that the youngster will keep on improving and benefit the team in the long run.
