Arsenal keen on Australian youngster

Widespread reports suggest that Arsene Wenger is very keen on acquiring the services of Australian youngster Daniel De Silva.

The 17 year old is highly regarded as one of the best young players to have emerged from down under in recent memory and his performances have led to strong interest from a host of European sides including Arsenal who have a thing for young talent.

Reports claim that Roma have already agreed a deal with Australian A-League side Perth Glory to sign De Silva next year but Arsenal have been monitoring the attacking midfielder’s progress for quite some time and are now looking to hijack the deal and lure the exciting youngster to England next year.

De Silva made his A-League debut for Perth Glory at the age of just 15 and became the second youngest player to play in Australia’s top football division.

Back in 2013, the young Aussie was very close to a move to Everton and was even offered a deal. However, the move failed to materialize due to work permit issues. However, now that he is nearing his 18th birthday, work permit issues will be a thing of the past and Arsenal are likely to approach Perth Glory in a bid to get their hands on a player who could become a household name in the coming years.
