After growing frustrated in his hunt for a decent midfielder, Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is set to offer German Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen 18 million pounds for the services of German international, Lars Bender.
The midfielder has been in sparkling form for Bayer for the past three seasons and is reportedly keen to test his skills in the English Premier League and sees Arsenal as the right place where he can further develop himself into a star player. And, Wenger is confident of getting his hands on the player after missing out on the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Roberto Firmino this summer.
The Frenchman was also keen on bringing German international Sami Khedira to the Emirates but after the player chose to join Juventus on a free transfer, was forced to review his transfer plans.
And although he is also being monitored by Liverpool, Bender has been advised by his twin brother Sven (Borussia Dortmund) to opt for Arsenal.
