Former Czech Republic international goalkeeper, Petr Cech, has agreed personal terms with London giants Arsenal over a switch to the Emirates this summer. The former Stade Rennais shot stopper is currently under contract at Chelsea but following the emergence of Thibaut Courtois, is aware that he will struggle for game time and has thus chosen to leave Stamford Bridge in order to play under Arsene Wenger who has guaranteed him a number 1 role.
Moreover, the recent news also spells an end to David Ospina’s relatively short career with Arsenal. The Colombian international is currently on national team duty at the Copa America but is believed to be edging closer to a switch to Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce where he is expected to replace Turkish international, Volkan Demeril as the club’s number 1.
The arrival of Cech is quite a statement from Jose Mourinho who in past has been criticised for selling his more important players to local rivals.
