Arsenal give up on Gonzalo Higuain

Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the Argentina international but with Napoli ot willing to make any concessions to sell the player, has now given up on the idea already

According to reports, Arsenal will now end their pursuit of the former Real Madrid striker after they were categorically informed by the Italian side to pay at least 42 million pounds for the star striker or forget about him.

Higuain has only recently completed his first season in the Serie A for Napoli but great performances have alerted the Gunners who see him as the perfect strike partner for Olivier Giroud. However, it appears that the Italians are willing to play hardball with the London club largely due to the fact that they are in a very healthy financial position and do not need to sell their star players to raise funds for good replacements.

Now, it appears that Wenger would be putting more focus into bringing Karim Benzema to the Emirates from Real Madrid with the French striker reportedly unhappy with his situation at the club following the arrival of Rafael Benitez.
