In a surprising turn of events, Arsene Wenger is ready to cash in on the Spain international who has reportedly agreed terms with Athletic Bilbao
The former Malaga man has been offered a two year contract by the Basque giants who will pay the Gunners around 9 million pounds for the full back’s services and it appears that Wenger is willing to do business with the residents of San Mames.
Reports claim that Nacho Monreal had a long conversation with the Gunners boss where he told him that he wants to make a return to Spanish football due to apparent personal reasons and the Frenchman has granted the 29 year old his wish. Now all that remains to be done is a small bit of paperwork and Monreal will seal a move to a club which he supported as a young boy.
Monreal won a total of 48 tackles last season, which was one of the highest figures in the entire squad, with Francis Coquelin topping that particular department with 59 successful tackles.
