The Gunners were really keen on bringing the Portugal international to the Emirates this summer but the midfielder has just suffered a serious injury
Arsene Wenger’s quest to finally get his hands on William Carvalho has hit a major setback after the Portuguese midfielder was sidelined for the next three months following a foot injury.
The Gunners had been keeping tabs on the Sporting Club de Portugal man for a really long time and it was reported that negotiations had finally started making sense before this unfortunate incident happened. The youngster has been diagnosed with a stress fracture of the tibia and is set to miss a major part of the start of next season.
And although the Gunners are keen on signing a player who was named player of the tournament at the UEFA Under 21 championships, it remains to be seen if they will be fine with the fact that Carvalho will miss at least the first 10 to 12 weeks of the new season.
