Thierry Henry on Arsenal’s transfer ambitions

The legendary Gunners striker believes that Arsene Wenger needs to spend money on at least four new players if he intends to win the title

The former France international says that after buying Petr Cech from Chelsea and being linked with a host of new players, Arsenal really need to sign four players in order to properly mount a league title charge. Henry feels that every player benefits from having strong players on the bench which forces him to perform consistently.

“I still think they need four players to get closer to Chelsea,” the Gunners legend told Sky Sports.

“I compare it to my generation – I knew, for example, when I first arrived at Arsenal that if I was not performing after an hour, Dennis Bergkamp was on the bench sometimes or Kanu or Sylvain Wiltord or Davor Suker.

“Whoever it was, I knew I had an hour to perform.”
