Wojciech Szczesny set to leave Arsenal

After ten years at the club, the Poland international is set to leave the Gunners to join AS Roma on a season long loan spell

According to reports, Rudi Garcia is on the verge of securing a season long loan deal for the Poland international who clearly has no short term future with Arsene Wenger’s side following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea who will be the club’s new number 1 for next season.

The keeper knows that staying with Arsenal will not really do him any good given that Petr Cech, who was signed from Chelsea last month, will be the club’s number 1 while David Ospina is set to be his deputy. Now, the player is apparently willing to secure a season long loan move to Rome where he will be given an option to sign on a permanent basis if he impressed the manager and the coaching staff.

Reports claim that the Gunners are also keen to offload Szczesny whose past indiscretions mean that he might never become the club’s number 1 again.
