Keeping the tradition alive, Arsenal has once again blown their chance of hiring a front man by making a late and failed bid on Olympic Lyon striker Clinton N’Jie.
Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger clearly attempted to sabotage Tottenham Hotspurs bid to acquire the Frenchman but failed to do so as his Twitter account has confirmed his hiring at the north London-based outfit.
Though it might have a late attempt to disrupt Spurs deal, but Wenger is indeed in dire need of a striker in their pecking order. With scanty performances from the likes of Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott, N’jie might have been a sight for the sore eyes.
With abilities to play deep in the left flank and up front, N’jie would have been a good addition to the squad but as the tradition goes, Arsenal missed out on another chance.
The 22-year-old scored eight goals for the Ligue 1 giants helping them have a shot at the title which however, PSG stole from them with a narrow margin.
