With Karim Benzema option down to nil, Arsenal FC are looking forward to the new season content with what they have. Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani might be possible extra option for Arsene Wenger.
The importance of the Uruguayan striker might be diminishing fast as Gunners’ boss said it quite clearly after a convincing win against Crystal City this Saturday that they have a strong squad with Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud giving promising results up front. Their third option, Danny Welbeck is recovering fast and will be back in action soon.
“He needed that [goal],” Wenger said about Giroud after he scored against Crystal City. “We have good strikers. Walcott was not used today and he’s an exceptional striker, Welbeck is coming back, we have Alexis. We have a strong striking force.”
Although Wenger has four strong options in the front, he is still not ruling out the option of Cavani as another scorer who might contribute a couple of dozen goals in the season.
