Arsenal failed in bids for Bayern Munich duo

Arsenal reportedly plotted bids for Bayern Munich star players, Lewandowski and Thomas Muller, believed to be in the region of 50 million pound.

However, the German champions refused to entertain any bid for the duo making Arsenal turn their attention elsewhere.

Arsene Wenger is in market for a world class striker all summer long and has been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema. However, it has been learnt that the Frenchman wasn’t first choice target of the club.

Before Benzema, Arsenal enquired about Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller but were told that they are not for sale by the Bundesliga club. Both Muller and Lewandowski are regulars at Allianz Arena under Pep Guardiola and it would have been a big call to let even one of them leave.

Manchester United were also keen to sign Thomas Muller but were also told that Bayern Munich will not sell their best player at any cost.
