The Arsenal manager admits that the club will never be able to bring Karim Benzema to the Emirates
After the Real Madrid striker pledged his future to the Spanish giants via Twitter earlier on Monday afternoon, Arsene Wenger says that the story linking his team with the France international is as good as dead.
The Gunners were reportedly willing to wait right till the end of the transfer window to see if they could bring the striker to North London but after the striker made clear that he is happy at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Gunners will have to look elsewhere.
“That story is dead. That story has always been created every week. When a player has a contract it’s the club that decides.
“Real Madrid have said many times they don’t want to sell him. It’s the same for us when we have a player under contract.”
