Arsenal wonderkid lined up by Swansea in loan deal

Arsenal’s Japanese wonderkid Ryo Miyaichi is being lined up by Swansea, who are keen to sign the forward on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has been out of action recently with injury but Arsenal are keen to expose the youngster to the trials and tribulations of Premier League as soon as possible. Chances are limited for him at the Emirates but Arsene Wenger is open to letting the promising youngster out on loan.

The youngster is highly regarded by the coaching staff at Arsenal and enjoyed a fruitful spell in the Dutch Eredivisie with Feyenoord, making quite an impression with his graceful dribbling style in 12 games last season.

Feyenoord have enquired regarding his availability again but sources around the Emirates are talking of Swansea being a potential destination for him as Wenger is a keen admirer of the type of football Brendon Rodgers installs in his side. Their free-flowing style of football is similar to the tactics employed by the Frenchman at Arsenal.

The Swansea boss has no transfer budget to play with in the window and is concentrating on using the loan market to add quality to his squad that probably still need another 20 points in the second half of the season in order to avoid relegation.

He has already brought in former Reading midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson on loan from German club Hoffenhiem despite the player having the option to join more established Premier League clubs such as Aston Villa.

Miyaichi has the ability to play anywhere across the forward line and would be a real asset to the Swans if a deal can be agreed – the main sticking point being his worry about moving away from London.
