Blues close in on Cavani, Everton midfielder linked to Arsenal

There is, one again, a lot of transfer rumours doing the round today and it is no surprise to see England’s big clubs linked with some of Europe’s top players.

Chelsea are on the lookout for a new striker and Stevan Jovetic seems to be one of their top targets, with reports suggesting the Blues are close to agreeing a £28 million fee with Fiorentina.

It would be an offer that the Serie A outfit would find tough to turn down and with Jose Mourinho clearly rating the Montenegro international highly, it looks as though he could be on the way to Stamford Bridge.

The Europa League Champions have also made an enquiry over Napoli striker – Edison Cavani – who has been on the radar of Manchester City and Arsenal recently.

Cavani is considered one of the best out-and-out strikers around and it is going to take a mammoth bid to lure him away from Italy, but Chelsea have plenty of cash.

One man that could be heading out of Stamford Bridge though is captain John Terry as big-spending Ligue 1 side Monaco have apparently offered the London club £7 million for the centre-back.

It is thought that Monaco also have a bumper contract lined up for Terry and if first-team football isn’t guaranteed at Chelsea, he could be on the move.

Arsenal are being linked with some big names and Arsene Wenger is keen to bulk up his defence after Abou Diaby’s constant injury problems.

The Frenchman is looking at either Victor Wanyama from Celtic or Toulouse’s Etienne Capoue.

Wanyama was impressive in the SPL and Champions League last season and seems to want to test himself at a higher level, whereas Capoue is also attracting the attention of Tottenham Hotspur, so could have plenty of options available.

If the price is right, these two players would be allowed to leave.

Another man that Wenger is keeping tabs on is Marouane Fellaini of Everton. The Belgian has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but the Gunners are also keen and we could see a bit of a bidding war.

It looks as though it is going to be tough for Everton to keep hold of Fellaini.

Liverpool could have plenty of players coming and going this summer and it seems as though Brendan Rodgers is happy to sell Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing and Jonjo Shelvey, with Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger also considering their futures at Anfield.

With Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez looking as though they might be leaving as well, there is going to be a big turnaround at Liverpool.

Ashley William and Joleon Lescott are being tipped as a potential centre-back pairing for next season and when it comes to strikers, there are a number of rumours flying around.

Negredo, Oscar Cardozo, Christian Benteke, Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko are all thought to be on Rodgers’ radar.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur could be about to bring in Leandro Damiao from Brazilian outfit Internacional – which would be seen as very good business. He has been the subject of many rumours for a while now and there is no doubt he has plenty of talent.
