Klopp is sweating on the fitness of Sven Bender and Marcel Schmelzer and a late decision will be made as to whether they will make the game while Lukasz Piszczek (hip), Sebastian Kehl (ankle), Ilkay Gündogan (back) and the suspended Mats Hummels will definitely miss out.
Hummels future has been the subject of much debate with rumours surfacing that the German International was set to move to Barcelona in a €35 million deal next summer with FC Basle star Fabian Schar poised to replace him.
The club moved swiftly to dispel both reports however the gossip could prove unsettling with the games coming thick and fast.
Hannover meanwhile will be without Ya Konan until early 2014 after the Ivory Coast International suffered ankle ligament damage in the 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin last time out.
However there is some welcome news with Mame Diouf in contention to feature against Dortmund after returning to training following for a month with a thigh muscle strain.
The Senegal International had made a strong start to the season with 2 goals and an assist before spraining his ankle with the subsequent thigh strain coming on his return.
Mirko Slomka’s side have made an impressive start to the season and currently sit fifth in the table, however their success has been built on a solid home record and they have already lost three games on the road.
