Gotze scored the opening goal against his former employers with Arjen Robben grabbing the killer second goal.
The Dutch star has been impressive for the Bavarian side this season and after the game he fired an ominous warning to the rest of Europe by insisting his side are only going to get better.
“We’ve come along a lot over the past two or three years but we want to keep developing, and keep improving” the former Chelsea star said.
Before adding “In Pep Guardiola, we’ve got the right coach for that. With him, we want to get even better still.”
CSKA meanwhile currently sit 4th in the Russian standings and will head into the game buoyed by a 1-0 win over city rivals Spartak Moscow.
Syedou Doumbia scored the game’s only goal to his tally to the season 9 and the Ivory Coast striker will be side’s main goal scoring threat.
The Russian’s still harbour hopes of reaching the last 16 and with the likes of Rasmus Elm, Zoran Tosic and Keisuke Honda in their ranks they boost the firepower to threaten Bayern.
When the two sides met in the reverse fixture back in September Bayern ran out comfortable 3-0 winners thanks to goals from David Alaba, Mario Mandzukic and Robben.
