Gianfranco Zola’s men, along with Blackpool and Nottingham Forest, are the only sides in the Championship to have won both their opening games so far while Reading have also made an impressive start beating Ipswich and drawing with Bolton.

Reading boss Nigel Adkins welcomes back winger Jimmy Kebe to the first team squad after a recent groin injury although the Frenchman will not feature as he is eased back into action.

Midfielder Mikele Leigertwood is still out recovering from ankle surgery while striker Jason Roberts is sidelined with a hip injury.

Despite the absence of Roberts, Pavel Progrebynak, who has been linked with a return to Russia, is unlikely to add to his 7 minutes of action so far this season with Nick Blackman, who opened his account for the season in the 1-1 draw with Bolton last weekend, and Adam le Fondre the preferred options up front.

Watford boss Gianfranco Zola meanwhile has no injuries worries ahead of the game with long-term absentees Nyron Nosworthy and Tommie Hoban both still out.

New signing Essaid Belkalem is unlikely to feature with the centre back only arriving in England this week on a season-long loan deal from Granada

Much of the focus will be on the inform Troy Deeney following his stunning start to the season.

The former Walsall man has been linked with a move to Premier League sides Fulham, West Ham and Spurs after carrying over last season’s form, when he scored 20 league goals, into the new campaign.

The 25 year old scored a hat-trick last weekend in the 6-1 demolition of Bournemouth with the player admitting his match day treble made he feel like a real striker telling the club’s official website

“The boss (Zola) gave me loads of stick when he first came here, saying only real strikers score hat-tricks, so now I’m a fully-fledged real striker and I’m happy now. There’s a big smile on my face.”

It should be an intriguing afternoon in the Championship with plenty of potential promotion clashes.
