The trio currently sit on 23 points, four points clear of the chasing pack, although Harry Redknapp’s side have a game in hand after a free match-day midweek.

Leicester and Burnley both took full advantage of the pace-setters inaction beating Yeovil and Burnley respectively to move level on points.

Leicester are unbeaten in their 5 league games, winning four and drawing one. Two has been the magic number for Nigel Pearson’s side with his Foxes side winning their last three games by a 2-1 margin.

They face 18th place Doncaster at the Keepmoat Stadium and with no new injury worries are expected to be unchanged for the 6th game in a row.

Burnley meanwhile face a tricky test at home to Reading. The Lancashire side moved top of the table midweek with a win over Doncaster and their recent form saw manager Sean Dyche named as manager of the month for September.

The club are set to welcome back Dean Marney following suspension while the visitors will have Royston Drenthe and Danny Williams back in the squad following injury.

QPR have arguably the easiest task on Saturday when they face bottom of the table Barnsley at Loftus Road. Redknapp will hand a debut to recent signing Javier Chevanton with Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson both out.

Barnsley have won just once so far this season and have lost all five games on the road.

Elsewhere in the league Millwall will want to get over their 4-0 loss to Birmingham when they take on Bournemouth while Ipswich, who let slip a 3-1 and 4-2 lead to draw 4-4 with Derby midweek, take on a Sheffield Wednesday side that has yet to win a game all season.

Bolton are another who have yet to win this season although they will be buoyed somewhat by their battling point at Blackpool midweek. They face a Birmingham side chasing their third successive home win.

Steve McClaren will take charge of a Derby team for the first time when they welcome Leeds United to pride park. The rams welcome back Richard Keogh following suspension while Brian McDermott is set to keep faith with the side that ended a run of three defeats with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth midweek.

Elsewhere Charlton take on Blackpool, Brighton face Nottingham Forest and 7th place Watford take on 9th place Huddersfield.
