Bolton are unbeaten in eight league games now and they’ve won their last three away games on the spin, conceding just one goal in the process and a trip to Middlesbrough this weekend won’t hold too many fears for the travelling Bolton fans.
In their 1-0 win against out of sorts Watford last weekend, they put in perhaps their best performance of the season so far and despite only being 13th in the league, punters would be wrong not to include them in the promotion chase.
It’s therefore no surprise to see the money being plunged down on a Bolton win against a Middlesbrough side that have got a new manager in the dugout in the form of Aitor Karanka and have won just six league games in 2013.
Value seekers should be making Bolton one of their best bets of the weekend at a huge price of 12/5.
Meanwhile, at the top of the table, it seems as though three teams are starting to break away from the pack which is an ominous sign for the rest of the division.
Burnley, Leicester and QPR have opened up a seven point gap on Blackpool in fourth and considering the form the front three are in that margin could become much bigger in the next few weeks.
Top of the table Burnley have a trip across to Yorkshire to look forward to as they take on a rather out of form Huddersfield, who have lost four of their last six matches.
Sean Dyche’s Clarets have only lost one game this season and have won five of their eight away league games.
They should be backed to beat the Terriers pretty comfortably with a -1 handicap start striking as decent value at 2/1. Leicester also rate as a decent bet to carry on their great form of late against Millwall that has seen them rise to second in the division.
Take the 4/7 for the win.
However, third place QPR look vulnerable against 5/1 Doncaster.
Their 1-0 win over Charlton was the eighth time this season they have prevailed by just one goal and despite sitting in third place in the league they have scored just 18 goals in 16 games.
Without a win in four away games, QPR look capable of slipping up in Yorkshire.
