The wins have moved the club to third from bottom, two points from safety but more importantly they will have instilled confidence into the side.

They face a Middlesbrough side that is currently 8th in the table and unbeaten in their last five games.

While Fulham have struggled to adapt following relegation, Norwich have had no such troubles. The Canaries are currently top of the table with 20 points although a loss to Charlton last time means they are level on points with Nottingham Forest at the top.

Neil Adams side will be hopeful of getting back to winning ways against 17th place Rotherham this weekend. Forest will be waiting in the wings should the Norfolk outfit slip up again, Stuart Pearce’s side have yet to lose this season but three successive draws saw them lose top spot.

They face a tricky test on Sunday with Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich the visitors to the City ground.

Third place Watford made it four games unbeaten last time out with a 2-1 win over Brentford and they will be out to extend that run on Saturday against inconsistent Brighton. Below them, Derby County have moved fourth courtesy of back to backs wins over Bolton and Bournemouth and they will be confident of a third straight win against 16th place Millwall.

Charlton face Birmingham and Wolves take on Wigan as the action involving the top seven closes out.

Elsewhere in the league, in-form Leeds with just on defeat in five face away day specialists Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn face Huddersfield, Bolton are home to Bournemouth and Brentford face a tough home tie against Reading.

The action gets underway on Friday when Cardiff travel to basement club Blackpool.
