Blackburn have been in solid form of late winning two and drawing two of their last five with just one defeat.

The club have won back to back games to move to the edge of the playoffs.

Last time out they defeated Nottingham Forest 3-1, the result coming seven days after they beat Birmingham 1-0 and if can claim three wins on the trot for the first time since the end of last season this weekend.

Reading meanwhile halted a run of seven games without a win last time out when they beat basement club Blackpool, 3-0.

The result wasn’t enough to move them into the top of the table but another win this weekend would certainly be although it will have to be achieved without the services of Garath McCleary, Jem Karacan, Danny Guthrie, Aaron Tshibola and Shaun Cummings.

While the quintet have been ruled out with various injuries so too has Michael Hector through suspension although there was some better news with Anton Ferdinand and Danny Williams both fit to play.

While Reading have a number of worries to contend with Blackburn are expected to be at full strength and could name the same side that came from behind to beat Forest. The only question mark surrounds Rudy Gestede with the player putting himself in contention with a goal against Stuart Pearce’s side.

Blackburn have proved very resilient in front of their own fans and have lost just one of their last 13 home games with only Derby coming away maximum points.
