Leeds v Preston Live Stream as Elland Road hosts Championship playoff contenders

Elland Road is set to witness a clash between two teams placed right next to each other in the Championship.

Home side Leeds are fifteenth in the table and Preston are one place behind them.

There is currently a one point gap between the two sides ahead of Sunday’s contest with the home team on twenty six points and the visitors on twenty five. Both sides are keenly aware of the fact that a win could move them out of the lower end of the Championship and put them within a win or two of the playoff positions.

The home side’s major question regarding player availability is whether Tom Adeyemi is able to overcome an illness which saw him withdrawn before the break in the earlier contest against Wolves.

Steve Evans has the luxury of no other fresh injury concerns meaning he is able to select from a fairly full squad of players. He is widely expected to select an unchanged side ahead of the Preston game.

Leeds host Preston from the Championship this afternoon.

Young player Sam Byram will be seeking to continue his current hot form which saw him score twice against Wolves. His recent performances have drawn praise from the head coach and he will be looking to impress further.

Preston will be forced to play without Chris Humphrey who is being held out of the side due to a shin problem which has not healed as quickly as had been hoped for previously.

Much to the dismay of the fans, Humphrey will not feature in the team again this season due to the severity of the problem. He joins Stevie May on the list of players who will not make another appearance this season. Preston will also be without Jermaine Beckford who has a knee problem which is still not fully repaired. He is close to fit but will not be healthy enough to make the trip to his old team.

Preston have recently managed a 1-1 draw against Birmingham City and previously managed to beat Reading by one goal. In some ways they have looked more threatening than Leeds and it is possible they will be able to pull off an upset win. Jordan Pickford has impressed recently in goal for the visitors but will be in for a tough test against Leeds.

The home side are likely to manage the victory and finally move up and begin a push towards the playoff places which the fans expect them to strive for.
