Sheff Wed v Wolves Live Stream – Pressure on Jackett as side looks to end barren spell

Hillsborough is set to play host to the contest between Sheffield Wednesday and Wolves later this evening with both these sides hopeful of three points.

The home team are currently placed tenth in the Championship on thirty points. The visitors are at seventeenth position on twenty five points.

If Sheffield Wednesday manage to get the victory then there is a chance they can go as high as seventh in the Championship, situating them just one place outside of the playoff spots. A Wolves win, on the other hand, would see the team move up several places to twelfth or thirteenth.

Sheffield Wednesday can’t risk the loss as it would leave them vulnerable to being overtaken by Blackburn.

The Owls go into the came with several players unavailable due to injury. Defender Michael Turner has a knee problem which looks set to keep him out of the side. The midfield will have to make do without Alex Lopez as a thigh injury means he will not play.

Wolves will be looking to stop the slide at Sheffield Wednesday today.

The team’s prospects have been boosted by confirmation that Sam Hutchinson will be fit and available to play in midfield.

Tom Lees remains unavailable due to a hamstring problem and Vincent Sasso’s knee means he is also set to be unavailable.

The status of visitor Wolves’ injury list remains uncertain as it remains to be seen whether Kevin McDonald will be fit to play in midfield. He will be touch and go up until close to the time of the kickoff and has been rated as having an equal chance of playing or not playing. Kortney Hause remains out with a thigh complaint and Emi Martinez will also be unavailable due to a thigh problem. Neither player is expected to be seen back in the side before 2016.

The home side are rated as the favourites to win but their chances are not helped by the fact that they haven’t managed to find the net in their last five contests with Wolves. On the plus side, Wednesday have made it through their last seven home matches in the league without suffering a loss.

They look to continue this form into Sunday’s encounter in order to quickly rebound and regain momentum from a 2-1 away loss to the MK Dons. Wolves have most recently managed a loss to Leeds and a draw against Nottingham Forest with their last victory coming at the start of the month against Rotherham.

Neither side have found winning easy lately and a draw is a very possible result.
