Newcastle face Fulham with live stream from Craven Cottage as Benitez looks for perfect start

Newcastle take on Fulham FC at Craven cottage tonight in the first game of the new Football League season with live streaming available from London.

The Toon Army were relegated last season but will be looking for an immediate return to the top flight of football and they should get off to the perfect start tonight.

Rafael Benitez surprisingly stayed on as Newcastle manager following the sides relegation, many thinking the Spaniard would walk away from St James Park, however his pedigree and talent will surely put his side firmly in the forefront of the Championship this season.

Not only has Mike Ashley kept his prized asset at the helm of the club, but the side has improved dramatically, with some additional big money signings added to the squad, providing much needed depth in a packed season with games coming thick and fast.

Matt Ritchie has come in from Bournemouth for around £12m, while Dwight Gayle has arrived from Crystal Palace for another big money fee of around £10m. These two alone should be enough to fire Newcastle to victory tonight.

If we add in recent signing Mohamed Diame, who rejected a new contract with newly promoted Premier League side Hull City, Benitez should have plenty of tools to push for a swift return to England’s top flight.

The signs are good for Newcastle as the side remained unbeaten during pre season and there is a definite upbeat feeling to fans at St James Park come the start of the season.

Of course, there have been some big name players leaving the north east club, with Georgino Wijnaldum leaving for Liverpool for a cool £25m, while Andros Townsend, who was the one shining light of the Newcastle side in their fight for relegation has left for Crystal Palace in  a deal worth £13m.

These were key players in the Premier League but the club have invested wisely, bringing in names and predominantly British talent which should give the club some steely backbone in the rough and tumble of the Championship.

Newcastle’s opponents Fulham could be set for a period of change with Slavisa Jokanovic brought in to steady the ship, however his plans will have been dealt a massive blow with the news that top striker Ross McCormack left the London club this week for fellow Championship side Aston Villa in a deal thought to be worth around £12m.

This could be a great opportunity to get off to a flyer with Fulham holding no fears for Newcastle tonight, and we’d expect Benitez’s side to kick off their Championship season with a win.

Newcastle v Fulham Match Odds

The away side can be backed at 11/10 to take all three points, however we fancy a little bit more value by backing the Newcastle win match result and over 1.5 goals at a price of 8/5, which should give us very handy return for our outlay.

As mentioned, Bet365 are live streaming the game tonight from Craven Cottage, so take advantage.
