Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard is close to signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge, which will see him earn £200,000 per week.
The Daily Telegraph claim Hazard could put pen to paper before the start of the January transfer window, putting to bed any issue about his future.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insisted Hazard would sign a new deal at the club soon and he looks set to be good to his word, with the Telegraph reporting the player and club want to make an announcement as soon as possible.
Hazard joined Chelsea in 2012 from French club Lille, after rejecting numerous Premier League rivals in favour of the Blues.
Paris Saint Germain were reportedly interested in Hazard, however the news the Belgian international is close to signing a new deal, will all but end their interest.
Chelsea face PSG in the Champions League for the second year running and around last season’s meeting was when news broke of the French clubs interest in Hazard, which angered Mourinho.
Hazard has been in superb form for the league leaders this term, scoring nine goals in all competitions, including the opener against Derby County in Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup Quarter-Final.
