Baggies play host to Chelsea as they seek to end newly crowned champions’ unbeaten run in the league.
West Brom will take on Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea at the Hawthorns for their last home game of the season. The Hosts have crossed the point tally of 40 already in order to avoid getting strangled in the relegation dog fight at this stage of the season. West Brom are currently 13th in the league with 41 points on the table and would be looking to extend their unbeaten run against Chelsea to four games.
The Baggies haven’t lost in their last three games against Chelsea but repeating that feat would be much harder this time around for the hosts. Chelsea have not lost in the league since New Year’s Day and have won six of their last eight league games. Chelsea can also hit the magical 90-points mark if they win their remaining two games of the season.
As far as the team news are concerned, Tony Pulis has a full fit squad to choose from and that has given the gaffer a serious selection headache. Callum McManaman has also recovered from his foot injury and is available for selection against Chelsea. Both Saido Berahino and Brown Ideye would be hoping to start the game as they were named on the bench in West Brom’s last outing against Newcastle United.
However, Chelsea are not as lucky as their opponents in terms of injuries. Didier Drogba can return to lead the line but there are a number of players who are a major doubt for Chelsea’s trip to Hawthorns. Peter Cech is still a doubt while Kurt Zouma is out for the reminder of the season. Ramires and Oscar are also out for the season which will allow the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Isaiah Brown to show their skills against West Brom.
