After weeks of reports linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge, the Colombian international has finally joined Jose Mourinho’s outfit on a season long loan from Ligue 1 side, AS Monaco
After failing miserably during his loan spell at Manchester United last season, the former Atletico Madrid striker has been given a shot at redemption by the Blues where he might have to initially settle to play as second fiddle to Diego Costa. However, the striker will be given enough chances to show his potential by Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager knows all about the striker who spent some time with Porto as well before fully coming to life at the Vicente Calderon. AS Monaco have been looking to sell the striker for a really long time but will now have to settle for an initial loan deal and would be hoping that the player’s performances lead him to sign a permanent deal with the English champions.
“I am very happy to be joining Chelsea and can’t wait to start training and help with our aim of retaining the league title and being successful in Europe,” Falcao told the club’s official website.
