The Bosnian international shipped four goals on his Chelsea debut but the Portuguese tactician is not worried about the performance
In rather comical fashion, the reigning English champions suffered a shocking 4-2 defeat at the hands of Major League Soccer giants, New York Red Bulls. Loic Remy opened the scoring but the MLS outfit scored four goals to register what would be a really big win for the North Americans.
However, Mourinho is totally unconcerned by Begovic’s performances and says that the summer signing will take time to adjust to his new surroundings.
“He was very tired. When the goalkeepers are very tired the coordination is low, the agility doesn’t exist, and the speed of reaction doesn’t exist.
“Courtois made a mistake in the first half with the ball at his feet. Begovic in the second half was not sharp in his reactions but it’s a consequence of being tired from training.
“I’m so happy to have him and in the next game against PSG he will start. He will play the first half. There’s no problem, it’s just a process.”
