The Chelsea boss is confident that the Brazilian youngster is going to have a bright future with the London club
The teenager signed for the reigning Premier League champions from Brazilian giants Fluminense for a fee believed to be in the region of 6.3 million pounds and would be looking to get as much games as he can under his belt next season.
And Mourinho is confident that the winger will shine for his new team after fielding him for 45 minutes during the team’s preseason penalty shootout win over Barcelona.
Mourinho said of the winger in The Sun: “We brought Kenedy with us because we believe in him. He’s a very young kid we believe a lot in.
“We have conditions to get him a work permit because we want him. We don’t want him to go out on loan — I think we have what the rules demand to get him a permit.
“He was in preseason with us without the documents so he couldn’t play the first two matches for us.
“Against Barcelona he had the chance to do it. Even if it was a friendly I think it was the best debut for a kid to play against the best team.
“It was a great night for the kid and a great experience.”
