The Chelsea defender says that losing out to Arsene Wenger’s team in the Community Shield game was not something that worries him
A solitary Oxlade Chamberlain goal was enough to give Arsene Wenger his first win over Jose Mourinho in 14 attempts and although the Chelsea manager was not happy with the result and did not even shake his opposite number’s hand after the game, Zouma says that such a defeat is not going to impact the reigning English champions in any way.
Zouma said: “There’s no impact for the season, they won and we were unlucky. Congratulations to them.
“We are happy to play a game in the Premier League. We lost the community shield, we were unlucky but we have to think about [the league].
“Every team can be champion, we want to be champion, we have to defend our title. We have a good squad and a good team. Mentally we are ready for that.”
