Ferdinand advises John Stones to snub Chelsea and join United

Manchester United hero, Rio Ferdinand, claims that John Stones would be a lunatic if he chooses to join the ranks of Mourinho’s men.

The Everton centre-back has been the subject of ardent interest in the recent transfer window, with number of prestigious clubs seeking to lure him to their side. Everton have already turned down two Chelsea bids of £20m and £26m for the 21-year-old starlet, and reports claim that Mourinho is tabling up another £30m bid to entice Stones to Stamford Bridge.

However, United star, Ferdinand, believes that Stones should pick Red Devils over the Blues.

“If he goes to Man United, he plays every week so that’s the right club for him,” said the former United centre-back.

“If he goes to Chelsea, he’s not playing every week. He’s at that stage of his development where he wants to play every week.

“If you say to any young footballer to leave a club to sit on the bench, you’ve got to be a lunatic. You have to be.”
