Chelsea set to seal Augsburg starlet Abdul Rahman Baba

Rahman’s agent has confirmed that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with the Augsburg left back.

Abdul Rahman Baba, a highly-rated defender has been a crucial part of the Bundesliga side, starting almost all fixtures except for three games when he was away on duty with his national team for the African Cup of Nations. The 21-year-old¬†Ghanaian has been under Mourinho’s radar for quite some time, and it is understood now that he has finally lured Baba to Stamford Bridge.

Latest reports suggest that Chelsea will pay £17.5million to Augsburg for the Ghanaian starlet, who is expected to complete his medical later this week.

“Chelsea made an attractive offer. It is Baba’s dream to play for a top club. He would like to take this opportunity,” said Baba’s agent Sascha Empacher.

About the progress of the transfer deal, Baba said: “It is only the clubs that have to find an agreement. We on our side are agreed,”
