Mourinho: My transfer window is over

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho confirms that the Blues will not be making any signing in the current transfer window.

With the Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis gone to Atletico Madrid, the Premier League Champions Chelsea have been rendered short of left-backs. As a result, Chelsea spent most of the summer in hunt for a quality defender to fill the void left by the Filipe Luis.

Recently, many reports from English media brewed Chelsea having links with Everton’s John Stones, but Jose Mourinho has confirmed today that he has locked his coffers until January. Mourinho’s exact words were:

“For me the transfer window is over. I don’t like the transfer window open when the competition starts. I know it is open, I know my club can buy or sell, but I don’t like that feeling. As a coach I am thinking about my players, my squad, and I don’t want to think about transfers. Clubs and players need quiet time and respect when the competition starts.

“Imagine a Swansea player plays against Chelsea on Saturday and then goes to Manchester City, then he plays against Chelsea again the next week. I cannot get that into my head.”
