The Blues believe that they won’t be able to sign John Stones and have instead turned their attention to the Real Madrid defender
According to reports, Chelsea and Jose Mourinho have given up hope of signing England international, John Stones from Everton this summer with the Toffees unwilling to do business with the Blues following their manager’s public pursuit of the youngster.
Moreover, after Stones chose not to submit a transfer request, it is clear that the transfer may never materialise. Now, the London giants have turned their attention towards Raphael Varane who might be considering an exit from Real Madrid where he has really struggled to nail down a regular place in the starting XI.
Mourinho is already looking at life without John Terry and believes that the young Frenchman could be a stellar defender for his team for years to come and although prizing him away could prove to be a tough task, the Blues are confident that they can meet the financial demands of this particular transfer.
