Jose Mourinho to not to appeal Terry red card

The veteran defender was sent off for a foul on Salomon Rondon nine minutes after the break and the Chelsea boss says that he will not lodge an appeal

In a rather controversial fashion, Mark Clattenburg showed the Chelsea captain a straight red card for pulling down Salomon Rondon who went down on the slightest of touches. However, Jose Mourinho says that the Blues are unlikely to appeal the decision as he feels that it would be a waste of time.

He said: “Normally it’s a waste of time for us, I think we should but normally it’s a waste of time.

“No (I don’t blame him), it’s a ball into the space behind the full back, the full back is pressing high, the striker makes the movement and then (referee) Mr Clattenburg decides it’s a red card.

“To speak about the sending off I have to speak about many other things in the game. Some things you can see and some things we can see.”
