Chelsea have not included their new signing Papy in the Champions League instead Bertrand Traore and Kenedy are selected.
The 26-year-old defender joined the Blues in a £3 million deal from Nantes and was seen as a much-needed alternative after the failed pursuit of John Stones.
But Mourinho still seems to be unhappy with his options at centre back, and Djilobodji has been omitted from their list for the UEFA competition. All Champions League clubs were told to include a minimum of eight ‘locally trained players’ on their submitted A list, which has a 25-man limit.
However, Chelsea have fewer than eight so their maximum squad size was reduced accordingly. Summer signings Pedro, Radamel Falcao, Asmir Begovic and Baba Rahman have all been included, but Chelsea were effectively left to pick two out of three players to complete their number.
Youngsters Jamal Blackman and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are included in the Blues’ squad, with the latter matching the age requirements to be eligible for the B list.
