Chelsea Striker’s Exit Looks Likely

Forgotten Chelsea Striker Loic Remy is edging close to an exit from Stamford Bridge, with a number of Premier League clubs interested in his services.

The 30-Year-old is expected to fly to China for the club’s pre-season tour of the far-east, but will be allowed to leave the club if a new centre forward is signed.

The Frenchman’s time at Chelsea has been limited since he signed from QPR in 2014, making only 32 league appearances and spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace, where an ankle injury heavily disrupted his playing time.

The striker is reported to want to stay with the Premier League Champions, but is aware that his playing time would likely be limited, so will opt for a move instead.

It is believed that Premier League clubs Everton and Southampton are in contention for his signature, as well as French clubs Lille and Marseille.

Both Everton and Southampton have sold prominent strikers this transfer window (RomeluLukaku and Jay Rodriguez, respectively) and may be in need of some more firepower up front.

Remy, while short of playing time, still offers a potential threat for whoever he signs for, as seen when he scored a brace in a friendly against Fulham yesterday (Which Chelsea came out 8-2 winners) at their Cobham Training Ground.

It looks certain that Chelsea will be entering the new season with a new strike force, as the interest for Remy comes after Chelsea were reportedly offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £70 million (according to Sky Sports).

Diego Costa has also been the source of interest from several clubs, so it would appear that Antonio Conte’s team will be seeing some major changes in the coming weeks, and this will more than likely include the departure of Remy.
