Alvaro Morata has shocked us all with a sudden move that has taken merely 12 hours to materialise.
Many reporters shied away from commenting on Morata’s move away from Real Madrid, but shows that no one knows what happens behind the scenes. The Spanish international who has played 20 times for the former World Cup winners scoring a total of 9 times arrived in London this morning ahead of a medical. The move comes as the talent had been side-lined for most of the season with Los Blancos.
Morata has been quoted by media sources praising Chelsea to a greater extent than imaginable in weeks past. The shock also comes as Zidane put a timer on the deal to take place, with 4 days to spare, many feel Morata will be announced late today or early tomorrow.
Despite playing a rather passive role in the starting XI last season, Real Madrid won the La Liga title and retained the UEFA Champions League, making history in the process. It is common knowledge that Zidane has his eye on Belgian winger, Eden Hazard but nothing has been reported on a future pairing between the French manager and the Belgian starlet.
Morata would be Conte’s fourth signing and would end the battle between Diego Costa and Conte. This would be the final nail in the coffin, with Costa bids coming in thick and fast one would expect. The replacement of the Spaniard with a 4 year younger and fitter version comes as no surprise with many saying that Morata is much better than Costa at this present moment in time.
The maturity and counter-attack specialism of Morata rivals Lukaku who Conte missed out on to rivals Manchester United earlier this month. Morata will fit well into the Chelsea dynamic and could be a powerful threat for the Blues next season.
